Hey, Derek here. USImprints Creative Art and Marketing Associate. I’m what many call a “unicorn” these days in Nashville. That means I’m a native to Nashville.
Why am I, along with a select group of people called a unicorn in our own home town? Well, it’s easier to find someone from out of state than it is to find a Nashville native these days! There is even a shirt now to solidify our unicorn-ness!
I’m not complaining – I’m happy to see Nashville grow at an amazing rate of over 100 people per day.
There is one question that comes up from non-native Nashvillians over and over and over and…you get what I’m saying. And that question?
“What is there to do around Nashville?”
I’m here to put an end to that question once and for all to save the Unicorns any more trouble!
Here are the five things to do in Nashville.
Disclaimer: We have the “this is our home effect,” meaning we live here so we don’t see everything as grand as tourists and new city sharers do.
Things to Do In Nashville
Walk Down Broadway
Fact: It’s impossible to talk about Nashville without mentioning Broadway.
No, not like the plays or musicals…I’m talking about the street, Broadway.
Taverns every ten steps, cars bumper-to-bumper, loud Predators fans…doesn’t sound fun? Well, you are wrong!
This is just part of what makes Broadway so great! It’s the atmosphere of the one strip of Nashville that never stops being a party!
Thanks to the Nashville Predators, we’ve made ourselves a name for being not only Music City, but a hockey town.
Those cars that are bumper-to-bumper? They’re the visitors who cannot wait to experience Nashville!
And the taverns? Well, how else are you going to have one of the best “block parties?” You need the space to entertain!
Nashville Predators Game
While they are brought up, let’s talk about the Nashville Predators.
Or as I call them – the greatest team to exist.
Now you may be thinking to yourself that you are not a fan of hockey. That’s fine! Because it’s not just about the hockey, it’s about the show!
If you go to a Nashville Predators game, the first thing you will notice is the chirps.
Just watch this video:
Ok, so what about when they aren’t scoring? Well, there is intermission, with some amazing entertainment with local bands and, on occasion, some big names.
If you are lucky, you’ll even catch some of the biggest names in country.
When she is not on tour, you may see Carrie Underwood supporting her husband, Mike Fisher (one of the Nashville Predators). You may even see Vince Gill, as he is a Preds fan.
Maybe I’m a little biased, due to their originality and being one of our customers, but Peddle Tavern is the bar on wheels that stands out among the rest.
Even if you cannot see it, you’ll hear it. Filled with music, laugher, sorority girls, and bachelorette parties, there is always a party going on here!

Experience the Coffee
By this point, you will notice there are a lot of “hipsters” in the area. And where there are hipsters, there are coffee shops.
Of course there is Starbucks, but there are other places near downtown as well.
Barista Parlor, Crema, Pinewood Social, Fido, Frothy Monkey…all just to name a few!
It doesn’t matter if you just want a black drip coffee or some fancy steeped…whatever! These are some of the best shops that will do your coffee right.
Live On the Green
A favorite week long event that happens around August each year is Live on the Green.
Simply put, artists come together to showcase their talents and music. Oh, and did I mention it’s free?
That means if you start to notice your budget dwindle, you can still have some free entertainment!
Need More To Do?
There really is so much that can be done around Nashville, and even if we made a list of 100 things, there would still be more to add.
Thankfully, there is this great video by Colin and Austin that tells you just about everything you need to know about Nashville!
Now that all this is taken care of, if you find yourself in the presence of a Nashville Unicorn, instead of asking, “What can I do in Nashville,” instead ask, “Where can I get some amazing promotional products?”
To which, we’ll point you to USImprints so you can speak with one of our promotional product experts. (;
