ASI Trade Show
As the new year kicks off into full swing, you may be planning an exhibit in an upcoming trade show. If you are looking to attract some new business, trade shows are a great way to accomplish this but at a cost. While they are not cheap, they could be your company’s leading source of new business this year.
If your business is participating in a trade show, one thing you are definitely going to need are a few promotional product giveaways. In case you did not make enough of a lasting impression at your exhibit, send your potential customers home with something to remember you. Below are a few do’s and don’ts of custom trade show giveaways.
1. DO Pick a product with a large, clear imprint area. After spending money on a trade show, the last thing you want to do is pass out giveaways with a logo that is too small or illegible. Trade shows are full of competitors. If the potential customer goes home and can’t read your logo, chances are they made contact with another one of your competitors at the trade show. Bottom line: It is very important for your logo to stand out.
2. DON’T pick a large, bulky item. Bigger doesn’t always mean better. If they can’t carry it, they are probably not going to want it. You need to chose items that are compact, lightweight, and can fit in a large tote bag. If you have some cool larger items, display them at the show or do a raffle for one person to win.
3. DO pick items you know they won’t immediately want to throw away. You need to select useful items with a purpose. Value is essential. If the potential client sees value in an item, they won’t be looking for the nearest trash bin once they are out of your sight. Imprinted acrylic tumblers or other custom drinkware are great options, as well as promotional pens, journals, and polypropylene totes.
4. DON’T pick items that don’t apply. Even though there are a lot of trendy, unique items on the market right now that doesn’t necessarily mean they are great way to build your particular brand. If they do not apply to your audience, they will not be very effective. You want these potential customers to go home, and rummage through their promotional tote bag of giveaways and know exactly who you are based on your brand and the giveaway items. There needs to be a direct correlation between your company and the product you gave them to take home.
